The band consists of singer/songwriter/guitarist, Glenn Skelhorn, a philosophical
young pedagogue; guitarist and all round decadent wrecker, Luke 'The Damage'
Delahunty; bassist/songwriter, Lord Clegg, insatiable romantic peddler of melancholic
fury; and drummer Geoff Skelhorn, the smoking fish Mr. Sticks. At times, the
music is searing, full-on rockabilly pounding, which threatens to annihilate
inhibition, whereas other Gutterfighter tunes find solace in the beauty of melodic
despair.
The band's history is an interesting one - Geoff and Glenn are cousins. An obsession with music amongst the small band of Skelhorn gonzos inevitably set them apart from the drudgery of conformity. Glenn and Luke have known each other since the age of 11 (having learnt to play the guitar together), pacing the same dingy, windswept school corridors (Luke was once guitarist for the now long gone yet infamous band, Cresta) and both studied at Leeds Uni, where Luke became acquainted with the strange Mancunian, yet loveable rogue, Clegg.
Eventually the stars aligned and the four little rascals converged to form
The Gutterfighters, proclaiming themselves the best and making mince meat of
